Course rules:

• To get a positive grade one must:

  • Have at most two unexplained absences.

  • Give two presentations of about 30-45 min.

• Better grades (besides giving great talks) can be obtained by:

  • 30% of the grade will be awarded to presentation slides (or a detailed conspect), which have to be submitted to the instructor via email at least 3 days before the talk: if the seminars are on Thursdays, the slides are due Monday morning.

  • bonuses for examples, small demos and such

  • bonuses for discussion

  • It is possible to ask for a change of topic (but not for a change of time) up to two weeks before the presentation. Presentation times can be changed if you find someone to switch with.
